The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie 2 Community Hall in Mpuluzi to render expert services on the community.
SASSA are going to be rendering expert services such as new social grant applications, change of payment method, client care enquiries, as well as the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a press release, the agency explained it truly is alarmed about the significant variety of people relying on social grants for survival.
“The intention in the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to a significant quantity of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This is SRD often mainly because of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no absolutely functional office committed to service the area on a daily basis. The assistance point designed for intervention ordeals a higher influx of likely beneficiaries, that makes it complicated for the office to attend to all people who take a look at a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise extra resources to allow the servicing of all consumers and improve use of Social Assistance solutions,” the agency said.
